Gwenllian of Wales or Gwenllian ferch Llywelyn (June 1282 – 7 June 1337) was the daughter of Llywelyn ap Gruffudd, the last native Prince of Wales ( Welsh: Tywysog Cymru ). [1] [2] [3] [4] Gwenllian is sometimes confused with Gwenllian ferch Gruffudd, who lived two centuries earlier.
Gwenllian was a warrior princess, leading an army of Welshmen in 1136 against the mighty Norman forces. Her bravery has made her a beloved figure, revered much like Boudica for her strength and tenacity in the face of great danger.
