Coriolanus (/ k ɒ r i ə ˈ l eɪ n ə s / or /-ˈ l ɑː-/ [1]) is a tragedy by William Shakespeare, believed to have been written between 1605 and 1608. The play is based on the life of the legendary Roman leader Gnaeus Marcius Coriolanus .

Caio Márcio Coriolano (em latim: Gaius Marcius ou Caius Martius Coriolanus) foi um general da gente Márcia da República Romana no século V a.C. Ele recebeu seu cognome toponímico, "Coriolano", por causa do excepcional valor demonstrado no cerco romano à cidade volsca de Corioli.
