The Institution has received word of the death May 7, 1999 of Scientist Emeritus William von Arx at his home in Falmouth. He was 82. Bill joined the WHOI staff in 1945 as a research associate in physical oceanography and was appointed a Senior Scientist in 1967.

7 de set. de 2023 · Von Arx (1871-1958) was the brother of The Great Nicola and a successful performer himself. Biography. He did not want to commercialize on the stage name of his brother Will, so used a number of stage names. Both Charles and Will traveled with their dad, then known as Nicoli. In 1912 he assumed the name of "Von Arx".
