In 2004, after several member changes and label woes, the band went on hiatus. Around this time, Bruno and Stewart reconnected with childhood friend and former Audiovent drummer Jamin Wilcox and began to play music together.
The band recruited the final part of the band, drummer Jamin Wilcox, and, upon having a solid lineup, formed the band under the name "Vent". Despite forming so early, members had just recently learned how to play their instruments, and would spend years just practicing together, playing covers of Nirvana and Metallica .
J-man a.k.a. “Jamin Wilcox.” Pronounced ‘‘Jay-min’’ Wilcox, was born ten minutes outside of Woodstock, N.Y. J-MAN was raised around the music business as his father, famed drummer Willie Wilcox was the drummer for artists such as Todd Rundgren, Utopia, and Hall and Oates.
