Magnus II of Saxe-Lauenburg (1543 – 14 May 1603, in Ratzeburg) was the eldest surviving son of Duke Francis I of Saxe-Lauenburg and Sybille of Saxe-Freiberg, daughter of Duke Henry IV the Pious. In 1571 Magnus II ascended the throne after his father Francis I resigned due to indebtedness.

In 1575 he gives Maasi Castle to 'Duke Magnus of Saxe-Lauenburg', who is allied to Sweden (a problematical assertion as Franz I is the current duke. His son, the future Magnus II, is the probable candidate here).
The father of Magnus was Duke Eric IV of Saxe-Lauenburg; his mother was Sophia, a daughter of Duke Magnus II of Brunswick. His brothers were Duke Eric V of Saxe-Lauenburg and Duke Bernard II of Saxe-Lauenburg. Bishop in Cammin. He entered priestly service and was a canon in Cammin.
