John Lyon, 7th Lord Glamis (c. 1521 – 1558) was a Scottish nobleman. Life. He was born about 1521, the son of John Lyon, 6th Lord Glamis, by Janet Douglas, second daughter of George, master of Angus. His father died in 1528.

He married Janet Keith, daughter of Robert Keith, Master of Marischal and Lady Elizabeth Douglas, on 6 February 1542/43. He died before 18 September 1559. John Lyon, 7th Lord Glamis gained the title of 7th Lord Glamis.

Sir John Lyon of Glamis (c. 1340 – 4 November 1382) was a Scottish nobleman who was Chamberlain of Scotland between 1377 and 1382. He is regarded as the progenitor of the Chiefs of Clan Lyon.

In 1543, Glamis was returned to John Lyon, 7th Lord Glamis. In 1606, Patrick Lyon, 9th Lord Glamis, was created Earl of Kinghorne. He began major works on the castle, commemorated by the inscription “Built by Patrick, Lord Glamis, and D [ame] Anna Murray” on the central tower.
