Type. Dramatic arts. Established. 1951. The Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts (German: Hochschule für Schauspielkunst Ernst Busch, HFS ), based in the Niederschöneweide district of Berlin, Germany, was founded in 1951 as the National Theatre School in Berlin with the status of college.
The Ernst Busch University of Theatre Arts Berlin – HfS Ernst Busch for short – gives students the training and the space to become well-rounded artists and human beings. The curriculum centres around imparting practical, artistic, research, and analytical skills at the highest level.

In 1981, the School was renamed Hochschule für Schauspielkunst “Ernst-Busch” (Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Art) with university status. In 1992, the Academy included departments of puppetry, acting for the theatre, directing, dramaturgy , dance/choreography.
