Né en 1883 à Paris, Pola Gauguin est le plus jeune des cinq fils de Paul Gauguin et de sa femme Mette Sophie Gad (1850-1920).
Pola Gauguin var en norsk maler og sønn av Paul Gauguin. Han ble født i Paris , vokste opp i København , men bodde i Norge fra 1912, avbrutt av opphold i Frankrike i 1924–1929.
