Voltando a mergulhar nos arquivos da TV sueca, que forneceram o material de seu trabalho anterior, “The Blackpower Mixtape 1967-1975”, o documentarista sueco Göran Hugo Olsson volta-se agora às lutas de independência de diversos países da África, que se desencadearam a seguir à II Guerra Mundial.
Sobre a Violência resgata materiais de arquivo recém-descobertos que cobrem os momentos mais marcantes da luta pela libertação do domínio colonial. O documentário esmiúça os mecanismos de descolonização através de imagens entrelaçadas com trechos do livro Os Condenados da Terra, de Frantz Fanon.
