John (7 April 1330 – 26 December 1352), an English nobleman, was the Earl of Kent (1331–52) and 4th Baron Wake of Liddell (1349–52). His promising career was cut short by an untimely death at the age of twenty-two.
Edmund died the following year and the Earldom of Kent was inherited by his younger brother John, 3rd Earl of Kent. John died aged 22 and all his land was passed to his sister Joan, Countess of Kent. The Earldom of Kent, as a royal earldom, became extinct.

Origins. Hubert de Burgh was born of unknown parents of Burgh-next-Aylsham, Norfolk. [1] . A case has been made for Hubert's father being Walter de Burgh, [2] and his mother was named Alice. [1] . The family were minor landholders in Norfolk and Suffolk, from whom Hubert inherited at least four manors. [1] .
John was an English nobleman who held the titles of Earl of Kent from 1331 to 1352 and Baron Wake of Liddell from 1349 to 1352. Born at Arundel Castle in Sussex, he was the youngest son of Edmund of Woodstock, Earl of Kent, and Margaret Wake, and was a grandson of Edward I.

Thomas and Joan’s eldest son another Thomas became a baron after his father’s death but did not become the 2nd Holland Earl of Kent until Joan died in 1385.
