John Seymour, 4th Duke of Somerset and 3rd Marquess of Hertford (before 1646 – 29 April 1675) was an English peer and MP. Life. He was the only surviving son of William Seymour, 2nd Duke of Somerset, and Lady Frances Devereux.

John Seymour, 4th Duke of Somerset (1629–1675), uncle, inherited the estate in 1671 on the death of the 3rd Duke, and in 1672 he rebuilt Totnam Lodge and redesigned the deer park, which at that date included long tree-lined walks and a deer "chase".
John Seymour, 4th Duke of Somerset and 5th Marquess of Hertford, was the fourth son of William, the 2nd Duke, and his second wife, Frances Devereux, eldest daughter of Robert Devereux, Earl of Essex. He married Sarah, daughter and heir of Sir Edward Alston, and widow of George Grimston in 1656.
