Thomas Morrow Reavley (June 21, 1921 – December 1, 2020) was an American jurist who was a United States circuit judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit . Biography. Reavley was born in Quitman, Texas. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas in 1942.
Tom Reavley, who served for nine years on the Texas Supreme Court before President Carter appointed him to what would become a 41-year career on the Fifth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals, died Tuesday in Houston. He was 99. When he died he was the oldest active federal judge.

He was 99. “During his 99 years, Judge Reavley earned the love, respect, and affection of those who had the privilege of knowing him,” said Chief Judge Lee H. Rosenthal of the Southern District of Texas.
