Badger Summer Scholars is a transformative learning opportunity for high school students across several academic areas of interest. Applicants should be ready to take the next step in their academic journey and to engage in a lively college program with peers from all over the country.
Direct Admit Wisconsin is an initiative by the Universities of Wisconsin to proactively offer admission to qualifying high school students in between their junior and senior years of high school. Direct admission removes the traditional application process and instead uses data provided by the high school to admit students to universities.
Rising juniors and seniors in high school can apply to take classes at UW–Madison during Summer Term, where they’ll earn college credit for face-to-face and online courses. Students take courses with experienced college students and establish an official UW–Madison transcript.

Home. Nondegree/Visiting Student Guide. High School Students. Qualified high school juniors or seniors may apply for admission as University Special students to become eligible to enroll in a course at UW–Madison. A minimum high school GPA of 3.000 overall and in the most recent semester is required.
Admissions Application. First-year applicants can apply using either the Common Application or the Universities of Wisconsin Application. UW–Madison does not prefer one application over the other. Please choose only one application and use only that application all the way through to submission.
