The Institute for New Economic Thinking (INET) is a New York City–based nonprofit think tank. It was founded in October 2009 as a result of the 2007–2012 global financial crisis, and runs a variety of affiliated programs at major universities such as the Cambridge-INET Institute at the University of Cambridge.
INET Oxford is a research institute that explores the interdisciplinary links between economics, complexity science and climate change. It publishes papers, books and reports on topics such as productivity, inequality, automation, AI, carbon taxation and net-zero transitions.
We partner with global research institutions and major universities to enrich the economics discipline and ensure new thinking has a voice. We are economists and thinkers from a range of disciplines who challenge conventional wisdom and advance ideas to better serve society.
