  3. Elementary Flying Training (EFT) lasts for up to 6 months and is conducted on either the Grob Tutor 115E or the Grob Prefect 120TP. It is mainly conducted at RAF Barkston Heath and RAF Wittering, however may be conducted at other locations with University Air Squadrons.

    Elementary flying training is conducted on two EFT Sqns: 16 (R) Sqn at RAF Wittering and 57 (R) Sqn based at RAFC Cranwell. All elementary flying will be conducted on the Grob 120TP (Prefect), supplied and maintained under the UK Military Flying Training System (UKMFTS) contract by Ascent.
