George Tailboys (c. 1523 – c. 6 September 1540) was the eldest son of Elizabeth Blount and Gilbert Tailboys, 1st Baron Tailboys of Kyme. Through his mother he was the half brother of Henry FitzRoy, 1st Duke of Richmond and Somerset , who was the only illegitimate offspring acknowledged by Henry VIII , King of England.
Eldest surviving son of Elizabeth Blount and Gilbert Talboys. First Baron Talboys of Kyme, his birth date is unknown, as is the date or year of his parent's marriage. On 25 Mar 1539, George was stated to have been sixteen years old. This would mean that he was born between Apr 1522 and Mar 1523.

George Tailboys was the eldest son and heir of Robert Tailboys, de jure Lord Kyme, Knight of the Shire for Lincolnshire, and Sheriff of Lincolnshire, and his wife, Elizabeth Heron. [1] [2] He was born about 1467 (aged 28 in 1495), probably in Lincolnshire where his father lived.

Gilbert Tailboys or Talboys, 1st Baron Tailboys of Kyme (c.1497/98 – 30 April 1530) was an English courtier and Member of Parliament during the reign of Henry VIII of England.
Biography. The Tailboys family, originally of Durham and Northumberland, acquired its Lincolnshire estates, together with the Northumberland lordship of Redesdale and a claim to the barony of Kyme and the earldom of Angus, through a 14th-century marriage into the house of Umfraville.
