Considering this was directed by Ron Santo's son, it could have been far worse—I expected sentimental tripe about Ron's battle with diabetes, and how he'd 'defeated all odds.'. And while there was some of that, This Old Cub has plenty of fun moments about Cubs history, which for any baseball nut (read: me) is automatic enjoyment.
