I chose Wellington because it's a very stable fund, that has produced good results for several decades. However, I see where some people go 50/50 with Wellington and Wellesley in their accounts, is their an advantage to using both funds vs just the one?

So the likelihood of a large cap fund beating the S&P 500 by any margin whatsoever for 45 years is .00047 (.078^3), or roughly 1 in 2,128.

  6. 6 de set. de 2014 · Out of the choices given, my vote would be for Wellington/Wellesley. That said, personally I would probably go with 50/50 Wellington/LifeStrategy Conservative Growth. This combo has a similar overall asset allocation, but is more diversified and reduces manager risk. You can't really go wrong either way IMO.

  7. 26 de dez. de 2021 · The most important thing is how risky you want your portfolio. As others have said wellington is 65% stocks and wellesley 35% stocks. Wellesley has lower risk but the lower expected return. Some folks on other popular forums like a 50:50 mix of wellington and wellesley for a 50% stock to bond mix.
