Lord John Philip Sackville (22 June 1713 – 3 December 1765) was the second son of Lionel Sackville, 1st Duke of Dorset. He was a keen cricketer who was closely connected with the sport in Kent. Thomas Sackville was born at Buckhurst, in the parish of Withyham, Sussex. His mother Winifrede was the daughter of Sir John Bridges, Lord Mayor of London. Stage Biography. Studied at Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art. Awarded the McEuen Rosebowl for Acting for the title role in Hamlet, at the Scottish Student Drama Festival. After training, leading roles in regional theatre followed at Pitlochry Festival Theatre, York Theatre Royal, Nuffield Theatre Southampton and the Watermill Theatre.
