In June 1817, Walewska’s third son, Rudolf-August d’Ornano, was born. Unfortunately, their happiness did not last long. Six months later – on 11 December 1817 – Marie Walewska died in Paris from kidney stones, surrounded by her sons and loving husband. A snow blizzard was raging outside. She was just 31 years old.
