The College was founded in 1596 by Lady Francis Sidney, Countess of Sussex on the site of a Franciscan House. The Chapel was redesigned by James Essex in 1770. The Chapel boasts a 2016 Flentrop organ, a 2014 Taylor & Boody chamber organ, a Steinway Model D and a 2010 Saunders harpsichord after Mietke.
