  5. 14 de ago. de 2012 · Johnny Pesky, who spent most of his 60-plus years in pro baseball with the Boston Red Sox and was beloved by the team’s fans, died Monday at a hospice in Danvers, Mass. He was 92.

  6. Pesky and the Red Sox enjoyed a lengthy relationship as Johnny was tapped to manager the club on two separate occasions (1963-1964, 1980) and compiled a 147-179 record in 326 games. Fenway is also home to the famed “Pesky Pole”, named by pitching teammate Mel Parnell as he claimed to have won a game when Pesky snuck a home run around the right field foul pole to insure victory.
