Riga ( latvisk Rīga, latgalisk Reiga, livisk Rīgõ) er hovudstaden i Latvia. Byen ligg i Rigabukta ved Austersjøen. Byen har kring 720 000 innbyggjarar (2006). Den er den største byen i dei baltiske statane. Det latviske parlamentet Saeima høyrer òg heime her, i tillegg til presidenten av Latvia .
Riga er den befolkningsrigeste by i Baltikum med 660.187 (2023) [1] indbyggere. På baggrund af data fra 2006 udgøres befolkningen af 43 % etniske letter og 42 % etniske russere. Dertil kommer 4 % hviderussere, 4 % ukrainere, 2 % polakker, 1 % jøder og 4 %, der tilhører andre befolkningsgrupper. [6]
