Desmond Tutu. Desmond Mpilo Tutu (født 7. oktober 1931, død 26. desember 2021) var en sørafrikansk kirkeleder og aktivist som ble verdenskjent i 1980-årene på grunn av sin motstand mot apartheid. Han mottok Nobels fredspris i 1984. Han var den første svarte anglikanske erkebiskopen i Cape Town, Sør-Afrika.

Desmond Tutu é um dos mais conhecidos ativistas dos direitos humanos da África do Sul que ganhou o Prémio Nobel da Paz de 1984 pelos seus esforços em resolver e acabar com o apartheid. Nascido em 1931 em Klerksdorp, África do Sul, primeiro foi professor, posteriormente estudou teologia, tendo–se tornado o primeiro arcebispo anglicano negro da Cidade do Cabo e Joanesburgo.
