Prince Ernest Augustus. Formation. 1716. Duke of York and Albany was a title of nobility in the Peerage of Great Britain. The title was created three times during the 18th century and was usually given to the second son of British monarchs. The predecessor titles in the English and Scottish peerages were Duke of York and Duke of Albany .

Die Duke-of-York-Inseln (deutsch von 1885 bis 1918: Neulauenburg oder auch Neu-Lauenburg) bilden eine Inselgruppe der East New Britain Province im zu Papua-Neuguinea gehörenden Bismarck-Archipel. Benannt sind sie nach Edward Augustus, Duke of York and Albany. Zwischen 1884 und 1919 waren sie Teil der deutschen Kolonie Deutsch-Neuguinea.
