Torquay (2016 population: 255) is a village in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan within the Rural Municipality of Cambria No. 6 and Census Division No. 2. It was named after Torquay in Devon, England.
Origin of Name. When the district was first settled in the 1880s the town was known simply as Spring Creek but by 1892 it had been renamed Torquay after the famous English holiday resort town of Devon. It is now accepted that one of the district's earliest settlers, James Follett, was responsible for the name change.
