English statesman. Was Secretary of State for War and the Colonies (1846-1852). The suburb of Howick in Auckland is named after him.
With the approval of Henry VIII Dorset married in 1533-4 Frances, the elder daughter of Charles Brandon, duke of Suffolk, by Mary Tudor, younger sister of Henry VIII. By his fathers wishes he had previously been contracted, and probably married, to a daughter of Lord Arundel, but with some difficulty, and by the payment of a large sum of money, he managed to free himself from his first wife.
Henry George Grey, 3rd Earl Grey (28 December 1802 – 9 October 1894). He married Maria Copley on 9 August 1832. General Charles Grey (15 March 1804 – 31 March 1870). He married Caroline Farquhar on 26 July 1836. They had seven children, including Albert Grey, 4th Earl Grey. Admiral Sir Frederick William Grey (23 August 1805 – 2 May 1878).
Richard Grey, 3rd Earl of Tankerville, 8th Lord of Powys (5 November 1436 – c. 1466) fought on the side of the House of York in the War of the Roses. Family. Sir Richard Grey was the son and heir of Henry Grey, 2nd Earl of Tankerville and Antigone Plantagenet (illegitimate daughter of Humphrey of Lancaster, 1st Duke of Gloucester).
Henry George Grey, 3rd Earl Grey (December 28, 1802 – October 9, 1894), known as Viscount Howick from 1807 until 1845, was an English statesman. He was the son of the 2nd Earl Grey , prime minister at the time of the Reform Bill of 1832.

The eldest son and heir of Charles, 2nd Earl Grey (Prime Minister 1830-1834), he followed his father into politics in 1826, when he was elected M.P. for Winchelsea in the Whig interest.
