Subra Suresh is an Indian-American biological engineer, materials scientist, and academic administrator. On 1 January 2018, he was inaugurated as the fourth President of Singapore's Nanyang Technological University (NTU), where he is also the inaugural Distinguished University Professor.
Prof Subra Suresh served as the 4th President of NTU from January 2018 to December 2022. He was the inaugural holder of the Distinguished University Professorship. During this time, he oversaw a number of key initiatives, from a university-wide consultation and development of the NTU 2025 Strategic Plan to establishing NTU’s 15-year Sustainability Manifesto.

While helming a major research university, he also began research on nanoscale diamonds. “We had a hypothesis that materials often behave surprisingly differently at the nanoscale than at the macro- or even micro-scale,” says Suresh.

24 de out. de 2023 · Subra Suresh ScD ’81, the Vannevar Bush Professor Emeritus and former dean of the MIT School of Engineering, was awarded the National Medal of Science. “Anything is possible if we put our mind to it, and with you all, you’ve got incredible minds,” President Biden told the honorees.
