  4. 30 de set. de 2021 · John of Islay, Lord of the Isles. John of Islay, Lord of the Isles, lived from about 1305 to 1386. He was also known as Eoin MacDomhnaill or Iain mac Aonghais MacDhòmhnaill. From Finlaggan, the Lords of the Isles ruled the Western part of Scotland from Kintyre to Lewis. They gained control from their Norse overlords, adopted their maritime skills and improved on them.

His army of 10,000 men included the forces of almost every clan of the Highlands and Isles.
