Cal State East Bay has three campuses — Hayward, Concord and Oakland. Cal State East Bay's 15 athletic teams compete within NCAA Division II. For out-of-state students, tuition is paid on a per-unit basis of $396/unit. Other expenses such as books, food, and housing should be also taken into account aside from the mandatory tuition and fees.

Cal State East Bay offers 48 bachelor's degrees, 56 minors, 34 master’s degrees, 23 credentials and certificates and one doctoral degree. Sixty-two percent of Cal State East Bay students are the first in their family to go to college. The Wall Street Journal recognizes CSUEB as a Top 10 college in the west for diversity.
