Frontispice est composé à Saint-Cloud en juin 1918 [1]. La partition de Ravel est écrite pour un effectif tout à fait singulier, cinq mains sur deux pianos, et est prévue comme indicatif musical à un texte de Ricciotto Canudo intitulé S.P. 503, le poème du Vardar [ 2 ] , [ 3 ] .
27 de jan. de 2022 · Ravel completed Le Tombeau de Couperin, Frontispice and La Valse between 1917 and 1920, when he was attempting to cope with the grief and trauma he had encoun-tered between August 1914 and the spring of 1917. After beginning Le Tombeau de Couperin in the summer of 1914, Ravel returned to it in the spring or summer of 1917.
