Sambourne House is the former home of Victorian illustrator and photographer Edward Linley Sambourne (1844 – 1910), his wife Marion, their two children and their live-in servants. The house gives an insight into their personal lives and provides a rare example of what was known as an 'Aesthetic interior' or 'House Beautiful'.

Edward Linley Sambourne, 1844–1910, English caricaturist and illustrator. He was associated with Punch from 1867, when he began contributing, until the end of his life, and he followed Sir John Tenniel as chief cartoonist in 1901.
