Churchill College’s modernist #architecture was the first of its kind @cambridgeuniversity and marked a new direction in higher education buildings across the UK during the 1960s. The College’s design was selected through a competition, won by architectural firm Richard Sheppard, Robson and Partners.
The Churchill connection follows Churchill’s personal protection of Denmark during WW2. The Møller Institute was built with a donation from the Møller Foundation made to Churchill College, also recognising the College’s tradition of excellence in the fields of science, technology and engineering.
