  4. John Nott was born on 1 February 1932, son of Richard and Phyllis Nott of Bideford, Devon. He was educated at King’s Mead, Seaford, then Bradfield College and finally Trinity College, University of Cambridge. In 1959 he married Miloska Sekol, of Maribor, Slovenia; they had two sons and one daughter.
