The Last Mistress is still by far my favourite of hers, all of the pretentions are dropped and we embrace the passion, a dark romance of sexual obsession rejecting social norms. Much more akin to something like In the Realm of the Senses, although we know we are heading towards a natural conclusion it's a gripping and engrossing journey all the same.
