  2. Claud Hamilton, 2nd Baron Hamilton of Strabane (c. 1605 – 1638) was the founder of the Strabane branch of the Hamiltons. He died relatively young at about 32 and his wife, Jean Gordon, married Sir Phelim O'Neill , one of the leaders of the 1641 rebellion , after his death.

  4. 3 de mai. de 2015 · Claud Hamilton, 1st Lord Paisley was born circa June 1546. [4] He was baptised on 9 June 1546 at Edinburgh Castle, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland. [4] He married Margaret Seton, daughter of George Seton, 5th Lord Seton and Isabel Hamilton, on 1 August 1574 at Niddry Castle, Scotland. [5] He died before 3 May 1621.6.

  5. Background Claud Hamilton was born about 1543; a younger son of the 2nd earl of Arran. Career In 1553 he received the lands of the abbey of Paisley, and in 1568 he aided Mary Queen of Scots to escape from Lochleven castle, afterwards fighting for her at the battle of Langside.

  7. In 1634, Claud Hamilton, a younger brother of the Earl, was created Lord Hamilton and, in the peerage of Ireland, Baron of Strabane by Charles I. Claud, the 4th Earl of Abercorn, supported James after the Revolution in 1688 and accompanied him when he went from France to Ireland.
