In 1533, following the death of Mary Tudor on 25 June, Mary and her sister Anne, by then Baroness Grey of Powys, pushed themselves to the front of the funeral cortege at the Abbey of St. Edmundsbury, just as the coffin was being lowered into the crypt, much to the consternation of their half-siblings.

When Edward Grey 3rd Baron of Grey Powis was born in 1503, in Montgomeryshire, Wales, his father, John Grey 2nd Baron Grey of Powis, was 18 and his mother, Margaret Dudley, was 18. He married Anne Brandon in 1525. He died on 2 July 1551, in Montgomeryshire, Wales, United Kingdom, at the age of 48.
Anne Brandon, daughter of Charles Brandon and Anne Browne was born some time between 1506 and 1509. Her parents did marry secretly in 1508 and later in public but it is not know whether Anne was born before or after the marriage. Richardson assigns her birth to about 1512, making her legitimate at birth.
