Fred Green DCM. 9th (Service) Battalion Duke of Wellington's Regiment (d.7th July 1916) On 7th July 1916 members of 9th Battalion Duke of Wellington's Regiment were in action around Contalmaison during the Somme offensive. A week earlier the British army suffered its' bloodiest day ever, with over 19000 men killed on a single day.

  2. Arthur Charles Valerian Wellesley, 9th Duke of Wellington, was Chairman of the Council of King’s College, London from 2007 until 2016, and played a vital role in founding King's Maths School.
