Westminster School is an English independent day and boarding school for boys aged from 12 to 19, located within the precincts of Westminster Abbey. It educates around 750 pupils and has origins that date back to before the 12th century.
28 de mar. de 2023 · The Daily Telegraph reported the school will be fully co-ed by 2030, although this has not been confirmed by Westminster. A spokesperson for the school told Tatler: ‘The concept of moving to full co-education has been a long-term strategic intention, accelerated by the arrival of new Heads Gary Savage and Kate Jefferson.
Westminster School is a public boarding and day school. The curriculum covers humanities, arts, sciences, music, art, drama and sport. Boys enter at 13, girls at 16. From 13 the curriculum is directed at GCSEs/IGCSEs, from 16 at Advanced Level and Cambridge Pre-U examinations. Admission is open to any applicant who meets the entry criteria.
About half come from Westminster Under School with others from a wide range of schools, mainly in London. Entry for 13+ begins with visiting the School for the first time in Year 5. In Year 6, boys take ISEB Common Pre-tests in Mathematics, English, verbal reasoning and non-verbal reasoning.
