Timing to get here (like many spots on the island) is very traffic dependent, but count on a minimum of: Ubud to Balian Beach – 2 hours. Ngurah Rai Airport to Balian – 2 hours. Canggu to Balian Beach – 1 ¼ hours. Grab is your best bet for a quick and easy ride from virtually anywhere on the Island.
Make sure if you’re a wine drinker you pick some up on your way through Canggu as it’s tricky to find in Balian given there are only local warnings & Indonesian shops (primarily standard groceries available). Cheap & delicious eats at the local restos. Highly rate the Sushi Surf Bar for some fresh sashimi! Untouched Bali.

That runs from May to September and brings up strong S-SW swells, which are just perfect for the rivermouth reefs in these parts. Watch the size, though – the peak of the season can turn on the action to 8-foot+ and that’s not so great for Balian’s Main Peak.
