6 de ago. de 2013 · Albertina Sisulu was born on 21 October 1918 in the district of Tsomo in the Transkei, the second of five children. Her father, Bonilizwe Thethiwe passed away in 1929 when Albertina was 11 years old. Her mother, Monica, died shortly afterward. Albertina attended the Maria Zell college, a Roman Catholic school in Tsomo.

Mama Albertina Nontsikelelo Sisulu was a political activist, nurse and community activist, and also one of the high-profile leaders of anti-apartheid resistance in South Africa. She was born on 21 October 1918 into the Thethiwe family in a village called Xolobe in the Tsomo district of the Transkei in the Eastern Cape.
