13 de abr. de 2016 · A graduate of Aberdeen University, Leeona Dorrian was admitted to the Faculty of Advocates in 1981. She served as standing junior counsel to the Health & Safety Executive and Commission and to the Department of Energy, and as an advocate depute, before being appointed Queen's Counsel in 1994.
Lady Dorrian served as Advocate Depute between 1988 and 1991, and as Standing Junior to the Department of Energy between 1991 and 1994. Lady Dorrian was appointed Queen's Counsel in 1994. Between 1997 and 2001 she was a member of the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board.
21 de jun. de 2016 · Leeona Dorrian, Lady Dorrian, graduated from Aberdeen University, and has served as a judge of the supreme courts since 2005. Christine McLintock, president of Law society of Scotland, said the appointment was a significant step forward for equality and diversity, also calling Leeona a wonderful role model.

13 de abr. de 2016 · As recently as a decade ago Leeona Dorrian QC was ticked off for wearing a red ribbon around her neck after the judge told her she was “improperly dressed.’” The first woman was not appointed to the Court of Session bench until 1996, when Hazel Aronson - Lady Cosgrove - was appointed.
