When Devdas Mohandas Gandhi was born on 22 May 1900, in Durban, Natal, South Africa, his father, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, was 30 and his mother, Kasturbai Makhanji Kapadia, was 31. He married Lakshmi on 16 June 1933. They were the parents of at least 1 son. He immigrated to New York City, New York, United States in 1951.
