  5. 9 de ago. de 2014 · William Wellesley Pole was a career politician with many jobs in the British Government, including Secretary of the Admiralty, Chancellor of the Exchequer and Postmaster General. Our interest, though, is his period as Master of the Mint, from 1814 to 1823.

  6. Wellesley and Marianne had no children. Without legitimate issue, he was succeeded as 3rd earl of Mornington by his brother William Wellesley-Pole (qv). The National Portrait Gallery in London possesses two portraits of Wellesley by J. P. Davis, and a marble bust by John Bacon. His papers are in the British Library.
