First, we draw the front ovoid shape and divide it, as before, in halves. We then take the measure A-B (half the width of the front view head) and transpose itto C-D, which completes the cranial mass. Finally, we sketch in the full profile. Our method gives us a good side view head.

John Lindley Byrne (born July 6, 1950) is a British-born naturalized American author and artist of comic books. Since the mid-1970s Byrne has worked on nearly every major American superhero. His most famous works have been on Marvel Comics's Uncanny X-Men and Fantastic Four and the 1986 relaunch of DC Comics's Superman franchise.
