The A350-900 flight test and certification phase involved five aircraft, which completed over 2,600 flight hours within a span of just over 14 months (June 2013 - September 2014). Airbus claims that was an industry record for efficient completion time.

  3. 31 de dez. de 2021 · With all the delays with FAA lately I’m curious myself. They are not able to perform anything on schedule. Space X are delayed because of FAA, Bell helicopter is delayed because of FAA. 5G. Either there must be too much innovation in the U.S. right now, or FAA has some huge problems. this is not just with TIA on Boeing 777X.

Airlines urgently need the seat capacity that had been planned for all those 777-9 ordered and expected to be available by now. If deliveries slip to 2026 airlines might need to finally order something else: 787-10 or A350-1000.

  8. 3 de mai. de 2024 · Lufthansa was supposed to receive it's first 779 by late 2025, now it's shifting towards summer 2026. That's another ~6 months delay. According to the article Boeing says LH was to have received their first 777X for summer 2025 but now LH expects it's "summer season" 2026 at the earliest so 9-12 months.

Forces inside a combustion turbine are largely balanced by means of a balance piston; the thrust bearing is relatively small and is in no way designed to take full propulsive thrust. Internal thrust could be actively controlled or maintained by a fixed orifice.

Given a backlog (per Boeing's site) of 58* 77L/W/F they wouldn't have to build very many 777X to fill production until EIS. * I think some of that stated backlog of 77Ws look somewhat 'dubious'.
