Karl Dönitz (* 16. September 1891 in Grünau bei Berlin; † 24. Dezember 1980 in Aumühle) war ein deutscher Marineoffizier, ab Januar 1943 im Rang eines Großadmirals und im Mai 1945 das letzte Staatsoberhaupt des Deutschen Reichs. Er war einer der 24 Angeklagten im Nürnberger Prozess gegen die Hauptkriegsverbrecher.
