In 1941 Yul Brynner traveled to the U.S., where he began an affair with American actor Hurd Hatfield, best known for playing the title role in the 1945 film The Picture of Dorian Gray. Both men were enrolled at the Michael Chekhov Theatre Studio in Ridgefield, Connecticut, and many of their classmates have since confirmed the affair.
Yul Brynner's next wife (notice we said "next" and not "last") was a French socialite with a really long name: Jacquline Simone Thion de la Chaume. The two married in 1971 and quickly adopted two children from Vietnam, Mia and Melody.
In 1971, Yul Brynner married his third spouse, Doris Kleiner. Their union lasted until Brynner’s death in 1985. Doris was a Chilean model, and their love story captured the attention of the public.
