Dedicated to St Mary and St John the Baptist, the chapel was largely completed in its present form by the end of the 13th century. The building retains a number of original stained glass windows, and is noted for its acoustics.
Merton College Chapel. Merton College was founded by Walter de Merton in 1264. Worship has been offered in the College Chapel for over seven hundred years. Today the Chapel is home to a lively and diverse community which continues this faithful offering of worship with daily services during term.

About Us. Merton College Chapel is open to all and welcomes visitors and Members of College. The Chapel is part of the Church of England but the daily offering of worship is sustained by Christians from many different traditions. The main service of the week is at 5.45pm on Sundays.
