Willesden (/ ˈ w ɪ l z d ə n /) is an area of north-west London, situated 5 miles (8 km) north-west of Charing Cross. It is historically a parish in the county of Middlesex [1] that was incorporated as the Municipal Borough of Willesden in 1933; it has formed part of the London Borough of Brent in Greater London since 1965. [2]

Willesden – Willesden Local History Society. Traditionally, a parish in Middlesex, Willesden became a municiple borough in 1933. It covered a large area in North West London, including the localities listed below. In 1965 it joined Wembley to become part of Brent. WLHS covers the areas included in the traditional parish of Willesden.
Há 6 dias · Footnotes. SETTLEMENT AND GROWTH. Apart from Roman Watling Street, evidence of man's activities in the Willesden area before the Saxon period is dubious. According to local tradition there were numerous Neolithic finds at Park Royal, Bronze Age vessels on the site of Brent reservoir, and Roman bricks at Neasden.
Há 4 dias · The prebendal manor of Wilsdon or Bounds was leased in the year 1560 to Robert Weston, Dean of the Arches (fn. 4). Some time previously to the civil war a lease was granted for three lives to John Awborne (fn. 5). When the church lands were put up to sale, in 1649, this manor was purchased by Ezekiel Tanner (fn. 6).
